This is the third book I read by Allred. The Price Paradise was my favorite, Sweet Gum Tree was second. Second Chance was just okay for me. I enjoy The author writing because she is funny and she makes you feel for the characters she is writing about. This book has to deal with Lanie ,Quinn and a rich father who does not want to see his son with someone who is not upper class. Quinn father lied to him about everything. Quinn didn't even realize he had a son by his wife who was supposed to be his ex-wife. I mean this father was a mess.. The book is definitely a page turner.

Nice light read,about what can happen when people interfere ,sad start but nice happy ending. Will look for more from this author.

A nice love story. The father was a terrible man keeping secrets of his grandson from his own son.
I beleived that the the Sweet Gum Tree could not be beat, but I was wrong I loved this book.. You connected with the characters and felt their emotions which nowadays authors are having trouble accomplishing, but not Katherine Alred.. I feel in love with Lanie she is strong, will minded, Jared is sweet loving and kind, and Quinn is the wonderful Hero who has been wronged by a man who is suppose to love him... Yes there is a secret child invovled but it was done correctly, I will be following this author her writing is amazing and she brings her characters to life,
It's been a bit since I read this, but I do remember that I thought the idea of the story was interesting. Also, I was rooting for Quinn and Lanie McAllister from the beginning that they would find their way back to one another. I was totally impressed with Quinn forgiving his father for the heinous things he did to keep him apart from his family. All in all, a feel good story. Also, I am a fan of Katherine Allred. I would recommend for those of us that like romance with a happy ending.
